Online Noise
I'm an avid fan of social recruiting, social media et al, however i must admit that lately the online 'noise' as been rather distracting. Whilst i believe that social recruiting forms a core part of a Recruiters role, i would also say that it can be a huge distraction and actually tempt Recruiters away from the face to face elements of the job, such as business development, candidate interviews and face to face networking.
My advice is to keep a tight grip on your organisation and prioritisation. Adopt a strict approach to how much time you spend online, and remember that real deals and rapport is ALWAYS built face to face. So a moment too long on Facebook or a tweet too much on Twitter, means you are spending less time with your contacts, who are 'humans' and not 'bots'.
